| The client wanted to create a new casino / bar / restaurant that would look and feel like a prospector’s cabin, yet have all the modern day luxuries and amenities.
Dale designed and directed everything from the old rough cut cedar siding to the large custom-made wood bar, the 2-1/2-inch thick fir table tops, the wood bar and chairs, along with the outside deck railing made from hand-hewn debarked logs.
One of the unique features of the Prospector is the dual-line cooking kitchen with top-of-the-line fixtures. The Prospector can serve large in-house groups or cater for large functions simultaneously. The floor of the kitchen is made from special, 1/4-inch thick, non-skid rubber.
Another unique feature is the roof which is covered in specialized Cor-Ten roofing, made to look rusted to create the old rustic look the client wanted.
Nelson Architects designed a new building that exceeded the client’s expectations. The scope of the project included not only the interior and exterior, but also the parking, landscaping, roofing, and more. Dale also directed the subcontractors who completed all the interior wood work.
