On the Boards The Highland Park Elementary School addition program encompasses six (6) elementary instructional classrooms, one (1) being a special education classroom; six (6) administrative offices; one (1) girls restroom; one (1) boys restroom; (2) storage spaces; one (1) mechanical space; and one (1) janitorial space. Built on the north end of the existing school, this elementary addition will offer an encouraging learning and working environment for its faculty members and students. The project is designed as a one-story, above grade facility. The design team will be working towards a LEED certified design, using ample day lighting and view strategies, low-VOC and recyclable materials, and reducing impeding energy loads. Construction documents are complete. Construction started February 10, 2010 and will be complete August 15, 2010. |
